This is the original 'Hands Off® Keyboard Lock', made in the USA.

A sturdy piano lock for both Upright and Grand pianos, this Keyboard Lock- Fallboard Clamp - is unbreakable.
Made with Noryl industrial thermo-plastic. and lined with Felt to protect the piano finish.

It is a self contained locking device with a 6" wide opening and is supplied with 2 pre-drilled shims to adjust height.
Pin tumbler lock supplied with two keys which are keyed alike.

Restricting Piano users ........ 06/14/2017

As noted in my Mobileer comments, access to the Spinet is to be restricted to community members who are able to play the Spinet without abusing it. The locking Hands Off will restrict this.

My wife has Alzheimer's but has always wanted to study piano more. With the piano in the Memory Care unit she will be able to have Music Therapists come in to work with her on her piano techniques.

I have inspected it and made a trial fitting. It will fit fine on our Baldwin console piano. I haven't installed it yet. The instructions say that the mounting screws don't need to have a pilot hole drilled, but I will do it anyway.
