A quality assembly but totally inappropriate for the Yamaha upright that I used them on. Required removing so much of the wood so that the wheels could swivel that it damaged the veneer.
It would help if needed circumference of wheels was indicated with the wheel specs.
Our responseIf you used the new sockets that came with the wheels, they shouldn't touch the wood. However, if you still had a problem, you could have exchanged them before removing wood from the piano.
Our 100 year old piano had tiny delicate brass wheels that truly didn’t roll, the piano being far too heavy for those tiny things. We had to do a little bit of engineering to put these wheels on but they are fantastic and allow for shifting the piano to clean behind and to retrieve items that roll or slip behind it.
great fit and they are solid and work very well. Instructions or guideline would have been useful. I still have to shim one wheel so it is even although I reloaded all of the original shims. Hmmmmmm......
I replaced the 1 inch diameter steel wheels on a spinet piano. The recessed holes on the bottom of the piano had to be widened out. I used a 3-1/4 inch diameter holesaw to enlarge the hole and a router to widen it out more. I recommend making a test hole on scrap wood before cutting into the piano to assure you have enough clearance.
Now it rolls smoothly across the room with little effort.
